peterr asked: Touché Amoré, and how about... um... The Good, The Bad and the Queen? Otherwise I just assume any post you like on my other blog is a good band.

Touche Amore - My bread and butter is 90s/early 2000s emotive hardcore / emo / screamo / whatever. I love shit like Swing Kids, Antioch Arrow, Torches to Rome, Light the Fuse and Run, Hot Cross, Orchid, City of Caterpillar, Raein, etc. So when I initially heard this bands demo - I was like, oh shit - these dudes know what’s up. Then I came to find from a friend of mine that Jeremy was the dude he introduced me to when in visited California in ‘05 because we had the EXACT same music tastes. Full circle.

They have the energy of all those bands, the taste for dissonance and crafting short bursts of songs with intensity and passion. A lot of people have written them off, and a lot of people make fun of them and whatever - but honestly they’re one of the hardest working bands in hardcore today and a lot of kids don’t get it cause you can’t two step to it and it’s such a throwback to bands they’ve never even heard of. If they were around in 2002 they’d be on Level Plane or Hyperrealist or something. I really think they’re doing cool shit for hardcore and being themselves.

The Good, The Bad, and the Queen - I basically back anything Damon Albarn does. Not to mention Paul from the Clash is one of the best bassists ever. The one record that did is really a phenomenal one. I haven’t listened to it in forever though so I’m going to have to pull it out. It’s on par with any of the Blur or Gorrilaz stuff I think.
